Darkside On WBEZ’ “Sound Opinions”

Back in January, Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington of Darkside stopped by Sound Opinions (WBEZ91.5 Chicago) to talk to Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot talk about how Darkside formed, the facts on the origin of the band name (involving a hotel room in Berlin, a fire hazard and The Big Lebowski), how three became two and much more. COACHELLA WEEKEND 2: QOTSA AND DARKSIDE THIS SATURDAY

If you are at the festival, but sure to catch Queens of the Stone Age tomorrow, April 19th, at 9:35pm PST on the Coachella Stage and DARKSIDE in the aptly-named Gobi tent after at 10:50pm PST. If you are anywhere but Indio this weekend, you can watch many performances (including QOTSA) on AXS TV here (please check local listings) or watch it on your computer at AXS.tv.

COACHELLA WEEKEND 1: QOTSA AND DARKSIDE TONIGHT

The first weekend of Coachella 2014 is underway! Catch Queens of the Stone Age TONIGHT, April 12th, at 9:40pm PST on the Coachella Stage and then RUN over to Gobi to catch DARKSIDE at 10:50pm PST. Portions of the festival are streaming live on YouTube, including tonight’s QOTSA set.

DARKSIDE REMIXES ST. VINCENT’S “DIGITAL WITNESS” / WORLD TOUR CONTINUES

Darkside unveiled a remix of St. Vincent’s “Digital Witness” this past weekend, in the wake of other news from the band. Listen to it via Nicolas Jaar’s imprint Other People.

One half of Darkside, Dave Harrington announced his upcoming solo EP Before This There Was One Heart But a Thousand Thoughts, on Twitter. Look for it May 5th via Other People. Also, check out the new single “Don’t Tell Me” from Jarr’s Just Friends project, a collaboration Sasha Spielberg.

Be sure to watch Darkside’s set from Nantes, France that was filmed thanks to La Blogothèque and ARTETV. Catch them on tour through this summer.

DARKSIDE in Europe, starting tomorrow

Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington gear up for an intense month of touring, as DARKSIDE’s world tour comes to Europe this March.  Most dates are long sold-out, but there’s a limited number remaining for Amsterdam, Stockholm, Nice and Manchester, available from www.darksideusa.com/tour/.

Primavera Sound 2014

It’s another mini-Matador fest at Primavera Sound festival this year, as Queens of the Stone Age, DARKSIDE, Body/Head, Lee Ranaldo and The Dust, Majical Cloudz and Glasser all descend upon Barcelona for the weekend of May 29th-31st.  Elsewhere amongst the line-up familiar faces include Spoon, Mogwai and Cold Cave ,with tickets on sale now from www.primaverasound.es.

Wrapping up a recent run of instudio sessions across the country, tonight at 11:00PM EST/10:00PM CST St. Paul’s The Current will be airing their visit from DARKSIDE.
