Ceremony west coast tour dates & $5 Gilman Street show

Never slowing down, Ceremony are poised to play a number of West Coast dates in May and June. Don’t miss them.

The dates include a special show at 924 Gilman St, of which the band writes on their website:

So it’s been over a year since we last played our home, 924 Gilman Street, which is (we’re told) the longest our band has ever gone since we began. We seek to rectify this with a very unique and experimental idea: A Five Dollar Punk Show. We’ll be joined on the bill by four kindred spirits; NO STATIK, SECRET PEOPLE,FACE THE RAIL and CAGED ANIMAL and we hope you will join us too. Friday May 17th at 7:30pm. All ages, naturally. No advance tickets or any of that bullshit, just show up. Let’s hang out.

Ceremony live on “Last Call With Carson Daly”

Tonight, Ceremony round up an insanely full year of touring, with no less than 128 dates in the books, in Bethlehem, PA at the Space for Secret Art (ask a punk for the address). If you missed em (you really have no excuse), enjoy these two clips that NBC’s “Last Call” captured at their show last month in Los Angeles.

Tonight’s Ceremony Show Moved

UPDATE:  Ceremony’s  Allentown, PA show at the Maingate Nightclub on Monday, Dec. 3 has been cancelled. Refunds will be made available at point of purchase. In lieu of this show, the band will be playing Bethlehem, PA at the Space for Secret Art (ask a punk for the address) on Monday, December 3 along with Stick Together and United Youth.

While tonight’s Ceremony show at the Sinclair* (Cambridge, MA) has unfortunately been cancelled, Ceremony will be playing a show tonight at Anchors Up!

Friday, November 30 / Ceremony at Anchors Up! (58 River Street in Haverhill, MA).
Also on this bill: New Brigade, Beware, Minus, Dead End Path, Soul Search, Rude Awakening, Bane
Go here for further show details.

In addition, Ceremony will be playing live on the air this afternoon on WZBC (Boston College).
If you’re in the Boston area, tune in at 3:30pm EST via 90.3FM
Otherwise, you can tune in online at WZBC.org or iTunes Radio under College/University.

*While the Sinclar show this evening has been canceled, it has been rescheduled for Titus Andronicus on January 27. Ceremony will not be on this bill. Refunds are available at point-of-purchase; tickets for the original show will be honored at the rescheduled January 27 show. Further information can be found here.

Ceremony in Mexico City Jan 12

Nostalgic for the old-school intensity of bands like Herejía, Histeria, Solución Mortal, Masacre 68, Atoxxxico, and Xenofobia? Then get with 2013 and grab a flight to Mexico City for Ceremony’s Mexican debut on January 12!

The show is at the historic cantina-slash-bullfighting museum (bueno, there’s bullfighting posters on the walls) La Faena, where apprentice bullfighters would hang out in the 50s, and now Ceremony, bullshit-fighters of Rohnert Park, will bring their brutal live show. The “faena,” or “task,” is the matador’s balletic final series of passes, one-on-one with the bull, preparing it for the kill, displaying his art, superiority, and courage in the process (metaphors with Ceremony abound).

With Monterrey’s Locus De Control, Tampico’s Depths, and local DF bands Sankinpankin, Nazareno El Violento, and the Sunny Day Real Estate-influenced En Círculos. For ticket info and more CLICK HERE.

Zoo on the Matador Store

www.ceremonyhc.com

Ceremony covered The Ramones and are still on tour!

During the recording sessions for Zoo, Ceremony found some time to knock out covers of some of the tracks that we speculate may have had some impact on the sound of their recent stuff. If you picked up the Hysteria 7″, you heard their take on The Urinals’ “I’m A Bug”, and right now, in conjunction with a giveaway for Ceremony’s show at Warsaw (in Brooklyn) tonight, Noisey have the track on offer for download. Give their cover of The Ramones’ “I Don’t Wanna Be Learned/I Don’t Wanna Be Tamed” a listen here.

Ceremony at Gilman Street: the documentary

Like lots of Bay Area crusters, Ceremony spent their formative years hanging out, watching bands and playing shows at 924 Gilman in Berkeley. Noisey brings us a short documentary capturing the spirit of that establishment, and perhaps as interestingly, the personality of the band (produced by Glasnost NYC):

Ceremony’s album Zoo is available now.

The band’s June tour includes a stop in Brooklyn for the Northside Festival (tickets still available):

Monday, June 11 – Wilkes-Barre, PA – Redwood Art Space (with Tigers Jaw, United Youth)
Tuesday, June 12 – Pawtucket, RI – The Met (with Soul Control, Raindanc)

Today on KEXP: Ceremony early, Tanlines late (update: later than expected), good times forever

UPDATE: Tanlines will now be playing live TOMORROW, April 25, at 3:00PM EDT/noon PDT.

Dear faithful radio listener,

Today on Seattle’s KEXP, available on the radio dial at 90.3FM or online at KEXP.org, we have a dynamic duo of artists performing for your edification and enlightenment.

In just under half an hour, Rohnert Park, CA’s Ceremony, fresh off opening for Refused and playing an UNPRECEDENTED 16+ show at Mercury Lounge last night, will be rocking and rolling the airwaves with soothing sounds from their latest opus, Zoo (available for purchase here). Tune in at 12:30PM EDT/9:30AM PDT.

Later today, at 4:30PM EDT/1:30PM PDT, Tanlines, who did not open for Refused last night but surely would have killed it if they had, will be performing live in the KEXP studios. Due to border issues (thanks a lot, Canada), Tanlines must needs reschedule their KEXP session. They will now take to the live airwaves tomorrow, April 25, at 3:00PM EDT/noon PDT. Their new album is called Mixed Emotions, the video for the song “All Of Me” is above, and you should make a point of purchasing the former and enjoying the latter.

There are a few more chances to catch Tanlines on tour, don’t sleep:
