Steven leaves the crowd at M-Theory speechless

Greetings from the Big White Van (whom the rental company named ‘Beth’),

So we’re officially halfway into the instore tour. 5 down, 5 to go. SoCal is in the bag and we’ve made our way north where it feels like it’s friggin October. Nobody told us it was going to be 55 degrees in August. We’re cold. A shopping day is very much in order. Anything with sleeves is tops on the menu. We’ve switched from three Mexican meals a day to three Thai meals a day. Sonic Youth, Faust, Adam Franklin, Eric’s Trip and Naked Raygun have dominated the stereo. We haven’t played the Bass Fishing video game the the rental company gave to us. A fuse blew on Jay’s amp. Twice. We got free t shirts. We got lost. The Big White Van’s battery died. And that millionaire guy killed his model girlfriend.

Are you sorry you missed one or more of the free, all-ages shows Jay’s been destroying? Well you should be. Cause they’ve been awesome. Amoeba Hollywood, Fingerprints, M-Theory, Streetlight and Amoeba SF were all packed to the gills with fans who certainly walked away satisfied. And Amoeba Berkeley, Jackpot, Easy St., Sonic Boom and Zulu should prove no different.

So if you see the Big White Van flowing through your town, be sure to follow it to the next stop for some ear-bending rock.

See yiz,

Jay, Steven, Billy, Mike and Beth

On Behalf Of Sammy Hagar, We Demand A Recount

(we all have different ways of coping with disappointment)

It’s a good thing American insurance companies don’t commission these sort of polls — you don’t see the folks at Blender hawking cheap policies, do you?  From the Daily Mail :

Meat Loaf’s “Bat Out Of Hell” was voted the number one driving anthem in a survey of more than 2,000 motorists, it was revealed yesterday.

However, the song was unlikely to awaken the speed demons. The survey, by Saga Motor Insurance, found drivers who listened to blues numbers were most likely to be caught speeding.

And comparatively mild country songs were the next most likely to induce drivers to speed, followed by reggae and hip-hop, and then classical.

According to the poll 49 per cent of those who listened to blues and 45 per cent who tuned in to country had committed a speeding offence.

Runner-up to Meat Loaf in the in-car charts was Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, with Steppenwolf’s Born To Be Wild third and Queen’s Don’t Stop me Now fourth.

Shat In The (Linkin Park’s) Van!!

By Andrew Earles on Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

No square inch of scenery left to chew, no square inch of Shatner’s ass to kiss, and no clips of the interview on YouTube yet, but one can enjoy Mike Patton exploring everything that happened in music between The Infectious Grooves and Linkin Park!

No Need To Pimp This Ride

By Gerard on Monday, October 29th, 2007

Who amongst us hasn’t dreamed of tooling around town in a chariot previously owned by one of history’s most infamous despots?

But enough about Matt Dillon, apparently Pol Pot had something to do with this Mercedes, too.
