(dear Merv Griffin’s lawyers : this wasn’t our idea! It’s not even the right wheel!)
After wrapping up 2010 with a return to their sold-out Hanukkah series at Mawell’s, Yo La Tengo will once again, in the words of their close friend Hank Garfield, Get In The Van. As has been recent Yo La Tengo practice, the band have endeavored to make tickets available at face value at a number of independent record stores, with details below. Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 5.
At the risking of brutally thieving from the band’s website, Yo La Tengo are touting the creation of a giant spinning wheel (“of fortune…fate?”) that will help determine the repertoire of the first 45 minutes of that night’s performance. Options include but are not limited to, “Songs That Begin With The Letter S” and “Sitcom Theatre” (surely I am not the only person in the band’s fanbase who hopes “The Ropers” has made the cut).
William Tyler will be opening all shows.
