Mission of Burma – Aquarium Drunkard session

New Pavement dates announced and the contest runners up!

Hours ago, Pavement played their first show since 1999 in Auckland, New Zealand… and just like that, further dates for Pavement’s reunion tour have been announced!

ADDITION: FINAL WINNERS OF TRACKLISTING CONTEST:

The “Guess The Track Listing Contest” for Pavement’s best-of collection, Quarantine The Past, concludes with the announcement of the four runner-up winners below. I don’t know why we announced prizes in reverse of the usual order, but there you go. Matador-Pavement vibez. Grand prize winner (all-expenses-paid trip to see Pavement in NYC’s Central Park in September), for guessing closest to the actual track listing, was Flavio Seixlack of São Paolo. Second prize winner, for most imaginative track listing, was Gwendael Gouriou of Plougastel-Daoulas in Brittany. Her track listing will be pressed up as a special limited-edition LP for Record Store Day. (If you missed them, click on the names of the winners above to see their track listings.)

We have a winner for the Fucked Up 7″ Contest. It is – drum rolls please – Steve Wiltse! His collection contained items that some of us in the office could not even identify. Well done, sir.

Steve will now receive a special 1 of 1 copy of Fucked Up’s new Couple Tracks 7″ with himself on the cover (above). Check out Steve’s Fucked Up collection after the jump. It is impressive, to say the least.
