Happy Birthday, Patrick Amory!

By Gerard on Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

I fully expect most of the nation's other employers to follow suit.  Word of warning to you jerks in Arizona — if you try to diss Patrick the way you did Dr. King, I can almost guarantee the Ivy Green reunion tour won't be stopping in Phoenix or Tuscon.

Today's free Shearwater show, originally planned to take place at Castle Clinton, has been moved to Pace University's Schimmel Center for the Arts, located at 3 Spruce Street in Lower Manhattan. (See map below.)   The band are still on at 7pm sharp. The 4, 5 or 6 train to City Hall should get you there.

Though "embarrassment" is a relative concept, this was probably a very good decision on Brian May's part.

If The New Pornographers’ July 4th Show In Battery Park Is Meant To Celebrate The Birth Of A Nation..

….then you can celebrate the afterbirth the following day, just a few blocks away with Shearwater.

Miwa advises us that if you're not there before the gates open…you might be shit out of luck. She didn't use those exact words, but there's no better way to describe wandering around that 'hood on a weekday evening with scant other entertainment options besides the Staten Island ferry and free frappucino samples.
